I am currently trying to design a small scale reactor that looks as elegant as the one from This Site. This reactor is designed for looks. I am planning on using Pyrocystis algae. Pyrocystis is a tropical, bio-luminescent, marine algae, but it has a very small oil production and therefore not very effective at producing bio-diesel . A few species are found in freshwater environments, however 90% of dinoflagellate species are marine. So Be careful when buying the algae.
